I hope that spring will soon arrive in this country as well. All my Japanese friends mention that it has gotten warmer and that they all have a feeling of spring lately. Even so the snow is slooooowly disappearing here as well, it's still very cold and nasty.
In order to call upon spring, I drew Yukimura in Heian Jidai inspired clothing and under a cherry tree in full bloom. The background is done with the wet in wet technique although i grounded the paper with sugar water first so the colour partly stick and not run as much as it would without the sugar.
I don't know why, but I really love this piece even so there are a few things that could be done better.

Ohh the cherry trees. Its an awesome time of the year when the cherry blossoms are growing but I always missed the time when they flower and never got a nice picture with my camera 
on the last year I even used a substitude and used apple blossoms instead of cherry. They looking beautiful as well, but I dont know I think it cant beat the really deal which is in this case the cherry blossom
